Intensely fragrant and highly decorative, this hyacinth is a standout in beds, borders, or vases. Like all hyacinths, it performs best in nutrient-rich soil with excellent drainage. If you’re dealing with clay or compacted soil, enhance the planting site with some sand or fine gravel for improved root health.

  • Fall-planted bulbs thrive when exposed to cool soil temperatures. They can be planted anytime from late September into January.
  • These bulbs lie dormant through winter and burst into bloom in the spring and early summer.
  • When you receive your bulbs, be sure to read the planting instructions included with each variety. Planting depth can vary depending on the size and type of the bulb, as well as how tall the mature plant will be.
  • As a general guideline, bulbs should be placed with the pointed end facing up and covered with about 15 cm (6 inches) of soil.
