Reaching skyward like its namesake, Mount Everest displays pristine white flower globes perched on tall, sturdy stems. These snowball-like blooms can grow up to 6 inches wide and are rich in nectar, making them a banquet for bees and other beneficial insects. Plant in sunny, well-drained areas for a showstopping vertical accent in your borders.

Allium Planting & Care

(Allium Mount Everest)

  • Plant your allium bulbs in mid to late fall, before the first hard frost.
  • Plant in borders or containers in sun or part shade. Make sure the soil is well draining.
  • Space the bulbs about twice the bulb diameter apart. Bury the bulbs at a depth roughly three times its height.
  • Place the allium bulbs with the pointed side facing upwards.
  • Cover with soil, firm gently and water well.
