A warm, spicy ball-dahlia with 10 cm rich copper-orange blooms that deepen to burnt caramel and brown at the center. Standing 90-120 cm tall, ‘Brown Sugar’ blooms from July to the first autumn frosts. With straight stems ideal for cutting, its fully double, partly incurved petals bring cozy copper-bronze hues to borders, patio containers, or late-summer bouquets. Sold as a tuber clump.

Dahlia Planting & Care

(Dahlia Brown Sugar)

  • Choose a sunny location that receives at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily for strong growth and abundant blooms.
  • Plant dahlia tubers after the danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed, as cold, wet soil can cause tubers to rot.
  • Loosen the soil well and dig a hole about 6 inches deep. Place the tuber horizontally with the eye facing up.
  • Cover with soil and water lightly at planting. Avoid heavy watering until new growth appears.
  • Once shoots emerge, water regularly, keeping the soil evenly moist but never waterlogged.
