Lilium leichtlinii — a vibrant tiger lily with bright lemon-yellow blooms dotted with dark speckles, creating a striking and exotic “tiger-skin” effect. Its delicately recurved petals and bold pattern make it a standout in garden borders, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. Hardy and low-maintenance, it thrives in full sun or partial shade with rich, well-drained soil while avoiding hot, dry conditions. Planting & Care

Lily Planting Guide

  • Plant lily bulbs in spring once the risk of frost has passed and the soil is workable. Container-grown lilies can be planted into pots in late spring or early summer.
  • Choose a sunny location with at least 6 hours of direct light. Lilies thrive in well-drained, organic-rich soil—amend heavy clay or use raised beds to prevent rot.
  • Loosen soil deeply and plant bulbs about 15–20 cm deep (roughly three times the bulb’s height), pointy end up. Space 15–20 cm apart or plant in small groups for best impact.
  • Water well at planting, then keep soil evenly moist during active growth. Avoid overwatering while bulbs are dormant.
  • Remove spent flower stems but allow foliage to die back naturally so the bulb can store energy for next season.
