David Austin Rose Elizabeth (Ausmajesty) is a bare root English shrub rose bred by David Austin that produces large, crisp pink blooms with a strong, sweet old rose fragrance and reliable repeat flowering throughout the growing season. This majestic rose grows tall and graceful, reaching about 150 cm (60") and is hardy in Canadian gardens from zone 5 to 11. An easy-to-grow, sun loving variety, Elizabeth is ideal for borders, beds, containers, and cut flowers, bringing classic colour, fragrance, and garden presence year after year.

Planting & Care

Caring for your roses

  • Rehydrate your rose. Unpack the rose quickly after receiving, trim 1/2" off the root tips and canes to keep them fresh.
  • Soak the roots up to the base of the cane for 2 hours - overnight.
  • Choose a site with a minimum of 4 hours of sun per day and dig a hole twice as wide as the root system and as deep as the roots (typically 16" wide x 16" deep)
  • Loosen the soil at the bottom the hole for better root growth then create a small mound in the base of the hole and drape the roots around it.
  • position the bud union (where shoots emerge) at ground level and backfill with the original soil. Lightly firm the soil around the plant.
  • Give the rose a good initial watering after plant and maintain regular watering. Keep the soil moist but not soggy.
