Wildeve (Ausbonny) is a bare root English shrub rose bred by David Austin that produces large, distinctly quartered rosette blooms in soft blush pink with a pretty apricot hue, gradually paling to almost white at the outer petals. The flowers are carried on long, gracefully arching branches and have a light, fruity fragrance, with excellent repeat flowering throughout the season. This bushy, mounding variety reaches approximately 125 cm tall and 150 cm wide, making it a beautiful choice for adding soft colour and graceful form to Canadian gardens. Perfect for borders, rose hedges, containers, cottage gardens, and partially shaded areas, Wildeve brings delicate blooms, gentle fragrance, and romantic English garden charm to any landscape.

Rose Planting & Care

(David Austin Rose - Wildeve)

  • Rehydrate your rose. Unpack the rose quickly after receiving, trim 1/2" off the root tips and canes to keep them fresh.
  • Soak the roots up to the base of the cane for 2 hours - overnight.
  • Choose a site with a minimum of 4 hours of sun per day and dig a hole twice as wide as the root system and as deep as the roots (typically 16" wide x 16" deep)
  • Loosen the soil at the bottom the hole for better root growth then create a small mound in the base of the hole and drape the roots around it.
  • position the bud union (where shoots emerge) at ground level and backfill with the original soil. Lightly firm the soil around the plant.
  • Give the rose a good initial watering after plant and maintain regular watering. Keep the soil moist but not soggy.
