Discovered growing wild near Blyth, Ontario, Legacy is a red Rocambole garlic with a bold attitude. With an average of 7–12 cloves per bulb, it packs plenty of punch for garlic lovers. Rocamboles are famous for their unmatched flavour and ultra-easy-to-peel skins. Many gardeners plant more each year, not just for the kitchen but for the potential pest-repelling perks—garlic has a reputation for helping reduce aphids and garden disease when grown throughout the landscape.

Garlic Planting & Care

(Garlic Legacy)

  • Plant cloves from September to the end of November
  • Garlic is not suited for growing in containers. Select an area to plant with rich, well draining soil and full sun exposure.
  • Separate the cloves and plant each one 10-15cm apart with the pointed end facing up. Plant the cloves 5cm deep.
  • Water as needed, and keep the area well weeded.
  • When the top leaves begin to dry out (between June and August), you can gently harvest. Leave bulbs out to dry (cure) for at least a week.
