Often mistaken for a fritillaria, this rare-looking ornamental onion brings an exotic touch to borders and beds. It thrives in sunny spots with well-drained soil and returns reliably each season. Planting & Care

Allium Planting Guide

  • Plant your allium bulbs in mid to late fall, before the first hard frost.
  • Plant in borders or containers in sun or part shade. Make sure the soil is well draining.
  • Space the bulbs about twice the bulb diameter apart. Bury the bulbs at a depth roughly three times its height.
  • Place the allium bulbs with the pointed side facing upwards.
  • Cover with soil, firm gently and water well.
