Blooming on leafless stems in late summer to autumn, these striking lily-like flowers add colour when most other plants are fading. Perfect for sunny, sheltered spots, Nerine bowdenii thrives in well-drained soil and brings elegance to borders, rock gardens, and container displays.

Nerine Planting & Care

(Nerine bowdenii)

  • Choose a location with good sun exposure (generally 6-8 hours of sun per day in the summer).
  • Plant after the last spring frost when soil has warmed up and the roots will thrive.
  • Loosen soil and dig a hole about twice as deep a the plant. 
  • Cover the plant with soil and water well to ensure it gets a good start.
  • Continue to water as needed keeping the soil moist but not waterlogged.
