Astrantia Star of Billion is a luminous shade-loving perennial that brings refined beauty to woodland gardens and borders. Its crisp white and soft green pincushion flowers, framed by elegant, starry bracts, hover above finely textured foliage from late spring into summer. Thriving in partial shade to shade, this Astrantia adapts well to most garden soils and gradually forms attractive clumps. A favourite of florists, its long-lasting cut flowers offer exceptional vase life, making Star of Billion as practical as it is enchanting.

Astrantia Planting & Care

(Astrantia Star of Billion)

  • Choose a location with good sun exposure (generally 6-8 hours of sun per day in the summer).
  • Plant after the last spring frost when soil has warmed up and the roots will thrive.
  • Loosen soil and dig a hole about twice as deep a the plant. 
  • Cover the plant with soil and water well to ensure it gets a good start.
  • Continue to water as needed keeping the soil moist but not waterlogged.
