Named Perennial of the Year in 2012, its heart-shaped leaves shimmer with frosted white surfaces and bold green veining, creating season-long interest from spring through fall. In early spring, delicate sky-blue forget-me-not–style flowers rise above the foliage. Ideal for partial shade, woodland gardens, and borders, Brunnera Jack Frost thrives in moist, well-drained soil and slowly forms an elegant, low-maintenance ground cover.

Spring Planting Guide

  • Choose a location with good sun exposure (generally 6-8 hours of sun per day in the summer).
  • Plant after the last spring frost when soil has warmed up and the roots will thrive.
  • Loosen soil and dig a hole about twice as deep a the plant. 
  • Cover the plant with soil and water well to ensure it gets a good start.
  • Continue to water as needed keeping the soil moist but not waterlogged.
