Blazing orange petals edged with sunshine-yellow give Triple A tulips an energetic and uplifting presence in the late spring garden. These tall, weather-tough blooms hold their shape on strong stems, standing up to wind and rain with ease. A classic Single Late variety with a rectangular bloom shape, Triple A is ideal for mass plantings, back borders, or as a bold statement in a spring bouquet.

Tulip Planting Guide

  • Tulips are cold-hardy and thrive outdoors through the winter. For optimal results, plant them anytime from October through mid-December. If your bulbs arrive earlier in the season (like September), store them in a cool, dry, and rodent-proof place until the weather cools enough for planting.
  • You can plant tulip bulbs directly into garden beds or outdoor containers.
  • For gardens with dense or clay-heavy soil, improve drainage by mixing in generous amounts of compost and coarse sand or grit.
  • Choose a location that gets full sun or partial/dappled shade.
  • Plant each bulb 15–20 cm deep, ensuring the pointed tip is facing upwards.
  • In containers, space bulbs about 10 cm apart for a full, lush look. In garden beds, you can space them slightly farther apart if desired.
