As a double early tulip, it’s eager to bloom and will greet you with lush, peony-like flowers starting from early April—an irresistible start to tulip season.

Tulip Marshmallow doesn’t just charm with its vibrant colour—it’s a visual treat with a delightful mix of hot pink and white outer petals, artfully streaked with hints of fresh green. The multi-layered, double blooms are long lasting and create a full, ruffled effect that’s as stunning in beds and borders as it is in containers.

Planting & Care

Tulip Planting Guide

  • Tulips are cold-hardy and thrive outdoors through the winter. For optimal results, plant them anytime from October through mid-December. If your bulbs arrive earlier in the season (like September), store them in a cool, dry, and rodent-proof place until the weather cools enough for planting.
  • You can plant tulip bulbs directly into garden beds or outdoor containers.
  • For gardens with dense or clay-heavy soil, improve drainage by mixing in generous amounts of compost and coarse sand or grit.
  • Choose a location that gets full sun or partial/dappled shade.
  • Plant each bulb 15–20 cm deep, ensuring the pointed tip is facing upwards.
  • In containers, space bulbs about 10 cm apart for a full, lush look. In garden beds, you can space them slightly farther apart if desired.
