Narcissus Bellabombe is a rare double daffodil that opens into full, ruffled blooms layered in soft yellow, creamy ivory, and warm peachy salmon. Each rounded flower looks like a miniature peony, bringing unusual colour and texture to the mid spring garden on sturdy 45 cm stems that also make excellent cut flowers.

Like all daffodils, Bellabombe is deer resistant and untouched by rodents, winter hardy to zone 3, and comes back reliably year after year across Canadian gardens in zones 3 to 10.

Part of our Premium Collection, Bellabombe is a hard to find variety supplied as large 12/14 grade bulbs for strong first-year blooms. Quantities are limited each season, so order early. Plant these double daffodil bulbs 15 cm deep in fall, in full sun or partial sun, and enjoy them for years to come.

Narcissus Planting & Care

(Narcissus Bellabombe)

  • Narcissus bulbs are hardy and can withstand cold winters without issue. The ideal planting window is between September and November. If you're not quite ready to plant them upon arrival, keep them in a cool, dry place away from rodents. It’s important to get them in the ground before December, as they won’t store well into the new year.
  • Place bulbs with pointed end facing up. Plant 10-15cm deep, adjusting the depth on bulb size. Generally, the hole should be about 2-3 times the height of the bulb.
  • Space bulbs roughly 10cm apart.
  • Cover bulbs with soil or compost and gently firm the surface. If the ground is particularly dry at planting time, give the area a light watering to help settle the soil. No additional watering is needed through the winter unless your region experiences very dry, mild conditions.
  • Narcissus bulbs can remain in the ground year-round. After blooming, remove faded flowers but allow the foliage to naturally die back and turn yellow. This process helps replenish the bulb's energy for next year’s growth.
