This striking Astilbe lights up shady spaces with luminous yellow foliage that softens to chartreuse green as the season progresses. Airy plumes of bright pink flowers rise above the leaves in midseason, drawing butterflies and adding vibrant contrast to woodland and shade gardens. Part of the japonica hybrid group, this medium-sized, clump-forming perennial features tidy, upright flower spikes and elegant, lance-shaped foliage.

Astilbe Color Flash Lime is a shade garden essential, thriving in part shade to full shade with consistently moist, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Divide established clumps every three to four years to maintain vigor and strong bloom performance.

Astilbe Planting & Care

(Astilbe Color Flash Lime)

  • Choose a location with good sun exposure (generally 6-8 hours of sun per day in the summer).
  • Plant after the last spring frost when soil has warmed up and the roots will thrive.
  • Loosen soil and dig a hole about twice as deep a the plant. 
  • Cover the plant with soil and water well to ensure it gets a good start.
  • Continue to water as needed keeping the soil moist but not waterlogged.
