Teasing Georgia (Ausbaker) is a beautiful climbing rose with richly coloured yellow rosette blooms. The outer petals gently fade to a soft, pale yellow, creating a striking two-tone effect. Its full, romantic flowers are complemented by a strong, classic Tea Rose fragrance. Introduced by David Austin in 1998, Teasing Georgia is a wonderful choice for adding colour and fragrance to walls, trellises, and other garden structures.

While Teasing Georgia is no longer available, we recommend The Poet's Wife as an excellent alternative. It offers a similar rich colour and is a particularly healthy variety with excellent disease resistance.

Rose Planting & Care

(David Austin Rose - Teasing Georgia)

  • Rehydrate your rose. Unpack the rose quickly after receiving, trim 1/2" off the root tips and canes to keep them fresh.
  • Soak the roots up to the base of the cane for 2 hours - overnight.
  • Choose a site with a minimum of 4 hours of sun per day and dig a hole twice as wide as the root system and as deep as the roots (typically 16" wide x 16" deep)
  • Loosen the soil at the bottom the hole for better root growth then create a small mound in the base of the hole and drape the roots around it.
  • position the bud union (where shoots emerge) at ground level and backfill with the original soil. Lightly firm the soil around the plant.
  • Give the rose a good initial watering after plant and maintain regular watering. Keep the soil moist but not soggy.
